DDP Yoga Week 8
Tuesday 9/16: Energy!
Friday 9/19: Red Hot Core and Fat Burner
Sunday 9/21: Below the Belt
I was purposely avoiding Below the Belt because I saw it was a long workout by DDP Yoga standards (28 minutes). I procrastinated until Sunday night, and then finally did it at the shipping depot. My goodness, I was right. Below the Belt is a workout that focuses on the legs and thighs, and it was absolutely brutal. The sweat was dripping, the muscles were challenged, and I found that my legs were shaking for an hour after the workout. I woke up late the next morning (8:00am) because my body needed extra recovery sleep. I didn't think that an exercise geared towards women would do that, but it was easily the toughest DDP Yoga exercise so far. But I did it. And now it's finally on to Week 9.
With the security wand still broken at the bank job, I've spent the last two weeks going into work and then going home a half hour later. I stay at home until it's 15 minutes before my shift is over, and then go in to sign out. One would think that this would be a great opportunity to get a lot of work done at home but, after two weeks of this, I think it's safe to say that I've done next to nothing during my free time at home. I get home between 7:30am and 8:00am. I jerk off and then sleep until 11:00am. That leaves me with around 3 hours to actually do some work. Instead I eat breakfast, watch a couple Simpsons episodes, and then either take another nap or play games on the computer until it's time to go back to work. This is total sloth behavior and it's causing some major issues.
First of all, I still have a ton of papers to file that haven't been filed. I've done little to no stock research. The NYS tax department sent me a letter almost two weeks ago saying I owe more money ($1,800) due to my 2012 Tax Return Amendment, and I have yet to send the papers to my accountant Ross for verification. Why?! What the hell am I doing?? I even have to force myself to do my DDP Yoga workouts at times, which makes no sense considering they aren't stressful or impact-heavy. Secondly, I've seen an increase in my food consumption. Today, for example, I had 4 turkey burgers instead of my usual two. Just because it's homemade or healthy doesn't mean that its portion size should increase, as too much of anything is never good. Coincidentally, I've noticed a slight weight increase in my body. Not having to do the rounds in the garage combined with the increase in food and sleep are the most likely culprits. Overall, I'm just more slothful than I was when I was actually working at the bank job, and my productivity is doing a nose dive. Is this what I'm gonna be like when I retire from my jobs in a few years?
To be honest, I'm glad to be experiencing this stuff now rather than later. I'm not sure how long the wand is gonna be broken, but the rest of my time at home will be spent fixing this problem. I knew there was gonna be a huge adjustment process from living in a cave to living in an actual basement apartment, but it's time to get things straight. And I don't want this to be a one-time thing, like doing a lot of work tomorrow and then saying “I'm cured”. I need to develop a routine of efficiency to replace my current routine of procrastination. That's what I learned after going through that “Reality Check”. Changing a single action will do nothing. Changing my mind about the way things are supposed to be is the only way to truly eliminate bad routines. Reading famous quotes or inspirational stories will do absolutely nothing for people with egos like mine. I've been able to break bad routines before, so I know I can do it again. I'll get there. And I'll get there soon.
P.S.: As I was writing this blog post, I got distracted with porn. It took me another 30 minutes just to write this thing. I'll get there, but it won't be easy...
LOL.. I can usually relate to your posts. This one is no exception, and the timing is perfect.
ReplyDeleteIn my case, I am enrolled in college full-time and should be studying 8am-4pm. However, I just finished the last House of Cards episode. I'm eating more, accomplishing less. :(
I don't comment nearly as often as I should...but I do appreciate your posts. Thank you for writing.
